  1. After learning about King George III of England, I think that he could have done some things differently to prevent the outbreak of war in the colonies. King George III could have gave the colonists a say in the government. If they had a say, maybe they would have been nicer about getting taxed. I also think that his ministers should have done some things differently, too. They could have talked to the King about possibly repealing taxes on everything rather than siding with him.

  2. I believe that King George III's minister could have down anything but agreeing on his decisions. They should have not accepted or agreed to paying taxes because that led to a huge outbreak in America with not buying things made from England and the Boston Tea Party. Also, they wanted to expand west, but he didn't allow it. So that's what I believe that King George III and bis ministers could have not done to prevent this outbreak.

  3. Now that I have learned about King George III, I have learned that he could have done so many things differently. King George kicked the colonists out of the government. If they didn't do that then the colonists would have stayed. Also, King George lll taxed them lot. The colonist would have been fine with it if maybe King George was nicer. I also think King Georges minister could have done things differently. They could have said no to raising the taxes. If they didn't there wouldn't be a huge break out for not buying things in England and boycotting. King George and his minsters could have done these things to prevent a outbreak.

  5. After learning about what King George did to the colonists I feel that he could have done things differently to have kept america. King George could have told the colonists that England was needing money, because the country spent a lot of money on the French and Indian war. The king could have told the colonists that he was needing to tax some items or he needed help with money donations. The King could have also given the colonists Representation for the taxes so the could choose what they wanted to be taxed.

  6. After learning what King George did to the colonists, I found somethings that could have prevented rebellion in the colonies. He could have explained he needed money to pay off the debts of the French and Indian war. He could have asked if they could pay it off and they might have. Also he could have let them live pass the Appalachian Mt. range instead of the crowded 13 colonies. If King George did at least some of these actions the Revolutionary war may never have existed.

    2. I agree with you completely. If he did all of the things you listed everything would have been fine.

  7. I think that he could have shown his dominance in a different way. He could have done a charity. He could have just taken money from the rich and used it to pay off his debt. He could have just taken money from stores and shops. He could have just taken all of the money from families in Britain.

  8. I think the King should have at least not taxed so much because that was a big cause of the colonists getting angry. He could even have just left the colonists alone once they left to America, NOT try and control them once they moved away to specifically leave the King's rules.

  9. King George lll and his ministers could have done things differently to prevent the outbreak of war in the colonies. Instead of taxing the colonists unfairly, he should have consulted them. If he had done this, then the colonists would have been more open to the taxes. Also, King George lll shouldn't've sent the troops to the colonies, and forced the colonists to house and feed them. Finally, King George could have been sane. This probably would have affected the many bad decisions he made.

  10. King George the III and his ministers should have done different things to prevent the war but instead it seemed like they wanted to start a war basically. After the French and Indian War in England was in debt. So the King starting taxing us.The prices were getting high and that's when the colonists broke out. He also wouldn't let the Colonists move west would really made us angry and wanted to fight. If he never did that we would be living a whole new life.

  11. King George III and his ministers could have done many things differently. The ministers could have said no to some of the ideas the king had. The king could have not taxed the colonists because that went haywire. Everyone hated it, and they rioted and protested. I think if they made different decisions everything would have been different

  12. Based on my knowledge of "The King who Lost America", I can say that making the Proclamation of 1763 was where he went wrong. If he hadn't done that, I don't think the war would have been as bad. The document said that know one could travel west into the Ohio River Valley. This got the colonists mad because they hadn't done anything wrong to deserve this. They didn't care about the Indians! If he had never made the Proclamation, maybe the war wouldn't have tarted at all.

  13. I think that the king could have not taxed the colonists. The king could have gotten money another way. The whole war started because the king was taxing them. If the king would have just listened to the colonists when they were complaining, the war would have never occurred. I think he could have sold some of his clothes or part of his castle rather than spending so much more money on future war. Also the king could have made a deal with the colonists rather than demand money from them. It sort of looks likes he wanted war.

  14. I believe that as a solution the King could have not put taxes on the colonists and had done something else to gain the money from after the war. Some examples are things like asking for more money when people buy things in the market place or sold a few flock to nearby countries.

  15. After learning about King George and what he did, I have a few ideas of what he could have done different. First of all, he could have just taxed England. If he didn't tax us, then the Revolutionary War may have never started. Also, he should have not made the proclamation line. This made the colonists mad and they started rioting. If King George did these things , maybe the life back then would be different.

  16. I think that King George could have done many different things to prevent the outbreak of war. He could have first not charged taxes overall, and just make something cost a couple cents more, and be unnoticeable to the colonists. There was another route he could have taken as well. He could have made the colonists pay taxes, but have a say in the government, since they were still a part of England. Overall, if he did the above things differently, there would have been a way to prevent the outbreak of war.

  17. If the King had not taxed the colonies we would probably still be apart of England. Even if he had just let us have a say, or representation while getting taxed, we wouldn't have resorted to war. Had he listened to what the colonies had to say there wouldn't have been a divide. Also if he hadn't made the Proclamation of 1763, not allowing us to claim what was ours. He was too power hungry.

  18. King George III was the king of England during the Revolutionary War. To prevent the war he could have done two things differently. The first thing he could have done was to allow the colonists to settle in the land that had been won in the French and Indian War. The reason why he proclaimed that they couldn't is that he did not want to supply troops to them, and he thought it would be harder to collect their taxes if they were more spread out. If the king had allowed the colonists to settle in the land they would never have been angry with him, since that was why they had fought for it in the first place. The second thing that King George could have done differently is to represent the colonies in Parliament. If he did this Patriots would have never rebelled and there would not have needed to be as many troops as there were in Boston. These two differences would have eliminated the tensions between both sides which would have made war much less likely.

  19. King George the 3rd made many mistakes. He could have helped the people but failed to do so. All he did was provoke us. First he gave us taxes and laws we didn't like. He didn't let us have a say in how they were run. He also was stubborn. He kept taxing us after we threaten him and protested. He sent troops in which led to war. He failed to keep a colony in peace with Britain.

  20. After learning about King george III, also known as the king who lost america, i think he could've done things differently to make them better. He started taxing because he couldn't afford more soldiers. He had wasted his money on soldiers which got him in Debt. He needed a way to get money fast. After thinking for a while he decided he would tax the colonist on things that came from Britain. After this law was passed the colonists were furious. If they were able to say what they thought was right this might not have happened. Since they didn't get to tell their side they started protests. One most known was the boston massacre. This famous event involved soldiers and colonists. War broke out between the two groups and five colonists were killed. If King George didn't pass the tax law things would have run more smoothly except the fact that king George was in debt.

  21. King George III made many mistakes. He and his ministers could have done many things differently in order to stop the Colonists' revolution. For example, he never allowed the colonists to have a say in Parliament. If he allowed a few representatives for the colonies, then the taxes could have been a lot more fair. Also, he could have allowed the colonists to settle on at least some of the land that England gained from the Revolutionary War. If the Colonists had more land, then they may not care as much about taxes. If they had representatives in Parliament, then they would have been able to control taxes. However, King George III did all of the wrong things, and lost America.

    2. Cameron you bring up a great, yet simple solution- compromise. If the King had learned this one simple rule colonists could have learned to live under his rule. Unfortunately, I think the King was too selfish to learn this principle.

  22. King George III was practically asking to be the king to loose America. According to History of US , the King tossed away half the country he made the colonists fight so hard for. He did this when he passed The Proclamation of 1763 not allowing any English settling west of the Appalachian mountains. Then, after the war colonists fought for the land we did not receive all of, England was broke. As a result the colonists were taxed without representation. Whenever colonists tried to be able to vote, the King ignored them. King George did not give a second thought about the issues of the colonies he was ruling. All he cared about was being KIng and having money in the country he actually lived in. King George III deserves to be called “the king to lost America”!

  23. After learning about King George and what he did, I think he could have done things differently to prevent the Revolutionary War. For example, he should not have taxed the colonist in America on everyday items. He should have only taxed England because then people could come to America, to get away from the taxes if they wanted to. Also, he could have let the colonist go to their new land after the French and Indian War had occurred, because then the colonist might think that he was rewarding them for their work. If this had happened back then, maybe the Revolutionary War could have not happened, and the world might be different today.
