The most interesting topic I learned in social studies is Ancient Rome. It was my favorite tropic because we got our culture, religion, and activities from them. I also like the gods and the powers they had. Most of our famous historians are from ancient Rome, like Octavion and Julius Caesar.

The most interesting topic I have learned about so far in history is Egypt. During the Egyptian times, there was a lot of mummification and a lot of kings and rulers. I loved learning about all of the pyramids and jewels and gold tat has been left in the Mummy's tomb. I also liked how in Egyptian times there was only one female pharaoh named Cleopatra. She was a very fun person to learn about because she was very powerful and had a cool story, also the last Egyptian pharaoh

The most interesting topic I have learned about in Social Studies over the past few years is the Greek gods and Ancient Greece. I enjoyed learning about this topic because a lot of the customs we have today were started in Ancient Greece and they were used to honor the Greek gods. Even things like theater and the Olympics came from Ancient Greece.

The most interesting topic I learned about in social studies was the Greek Gods and Goddesses. The Greek Gods and Goddesses were my favorite thing because there were so many. Each God/Goddess had a different trait. Some examples are Athena:Goddess of battle, Aphrodite:Goddess of beauty, and Zeus:God of Gods. Those are just some of the many Greek Gods and Goddesses.Personally do not have a favorite, but I do however love to learn about them all. That is why Greek Gods and Goddesses are my favorite Social studies topic.

ReplyDeleteThe most interesting topic that I learned in Social Studies in the past few years would probably be the Middle Ages. Even though many people were poor and unhealthy, it was a significant time. I enjoyed the Middle ages a lot because there was the Black Plague, and I found it weird how the "so called doctors" tried to cure it. I also enjoyed how people tried to rule then. There were kings and queens, and I also found how they fought wars interesting.

The most interesting topic to me, was learning about Sparta. It seemed very vague to me. This is because before I learned about it, I thought it was exactly like Athens. It turns out I was clearly mistaken because it's somewhat alike but not entirely. Sparta has much more action and violence, and also more women's rights. Where as Athens doesn't really have any women's rights. I enjoyed learning about Sparta so much because it was such an action-packed topic and I got to see how children were back then also. Our world is nothing like Sparta so it's fun to learn about something different. Although I loved learning about it, I would never want to live in the time period of the Spartans only because it's way to bloody and gory.

Greek gods and goddesses were my favorite topic i learned about in social studies. The reason this was my favorite topic is because its cool learning about their powers. for example Zeus had a lightning bolt, Poseidon had a trident, and Hades had a pitch fork. Also it was cool learning about what they controlled. For example Poseidon owned the sea, Zeus owned the sky, and Hades owned the underworld. Overall i think the Greek Gods and Goddesses were the most interesting topic. Chris L pr 2-3
ReplyDeleteThe most interesting topic I learned about in social studies over the past couple years was how the people of Sparta and Athens lived their lives. It was very fun to compare and contrast the different lifestyles of the Spartans and the Athenians. For example, once a boy in Sparta turned 7 he was taken away from his home to work in the military. Sparta also dealed with a violence and rough training to maintain the perfect body shape. The people of Athens weren't that strict. The Athenians weren't so concerned with their physical appearance and they were not so hard on their children, they might have even cared about them a little more than the Spartans! As you can see, I found learning about the Spartans and the Athenians very interesting!!! ~Katy M. P5-9A
ReplyDeleteFor me, the most interesting topic in Social Studies are about how the Greeks explained the nature by believing in gods and goddesses. My favorite part about the topic is when Arachne challenged Athena into a weaving contest, which she had won. Athena’s weaving is about her competition with Poseidon and the Parthenon. On the other hand, Arachne was weaving about the wars that the gods made and their weaknesses and fears. When Athena saw it she got angry and then she said to Arachne "You may be foolish and stubborn, but you seem to love your work. So why don’t you go ahead and spin forever!" Then, Arachne turned into a spider and she was known to be the first spider for the Ancient Greeks. She then weaves for eternity whenever she wanted to. I find Greek myths to be interesting because they have morals, too!

One of my favorite topics were Greek Gods. Now I know that they aren't a whole topic but I asked Mr. Gannon and he made it a whole topic. And you don't know this but I am a HUGE Greek gods fan.

My most favorite thing that I learned about in Social Studies was the Greek Gods. The reason I like the Greek Gods is because it was cool to see how many different gods there were and the different things that each god meant. I also liked learning about Greece overall because it is a really interesting place and I hope I can learn more about Ancient Greece this year.

This year I am looking forward to learning about our presidents. I wonder if some of the decisions they made today shaped or changed present day America. I think it is important to know who represented our country as American citizens. I cant wait for 7th Grade Social Studies!

DeleteThe most interesting topic in Social Studies for me would have to be ancient history. I enjoyed this topic because I like knowing about other peoples history as well as my own.
ReplyDeleteThe most interesting thing I learned last year was about the Greek Gods. They were very interesting to learn. Zeus was my favorite because he was the god of gods. It was very cool seeing what they did and the stories about them.

The most interesting thing that I learned about in Social Studies was Sparta and Athens and how they were different. For example, Athens and Sparta were very different when it came to women's rights. In Sparta, the girls got an opportunity to get an education, but not as long as the boys did, and they could be in charge of in charge of their household. In Athens, the girls did not get an education and just did chores at their house and they only left their house for religious duties. Also, Athens and Sparta were very different when it came to military. For example, Sparta took military very seriously. In Sparta boys started military training from age seven and war was the only career they would ever know. In Athens, boys were only trained for when they were eighteen years old and were expected for battle anytime, even though they were not as trained as the boys in Sparta. Learning about Sparta and Athens was definitely the most interesting thing I learned about in Social Studies

DeleteThe most interesting topic last year that my class learned about was definitely Greek gods/goddesses. It was really interesting learning about the twelve main gods and all of their powers. Also, they all different stories that make them more interesting to learn about. My favorite gods are probably Hades and Apollo. These two are my favorite gods because in the series "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" one of my favorite characters is Nico di Angelo who is a half-blood, better know as a demi-god, and his father is Hades. Apollo is my favorite too because I did a project on him last year and learned a lot about him. Greek Mythology is definitely my favorite part of history!

The most interesting topic i learned last year in Social
ReplyDeleteStudies had to be the Ancient Greek Gods. The reason why this is my favorite is because i had gained a interest in mythological stories/creatures/Gods from Greek myths, Norse myths, and more. My most recent major myth readings were the WHOLE Percy Jackson Series (Book 1 in 6th grade ILA, book 2, 3, and 5 for fun, and the 4th one for my summer reading) AND i have 2 books from the book fair all about mythological monsters. We learned about the twelve gods (Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, Aphrodite, Athena, Hermes, Dionysus, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, and Demeter), some mythological monsters such as the Minotaur, and stories. That is only scraping the surface on why i love this topic (if i told you all of it, we would be here ALL day), i hope you enjoyed this paragraph!

The most interesting topic I learned last year was about Sparta and Athens. I enjoyed learning about this because they had many differences. For example, Athens had a form of democracy and Sparta was a dictatorship. Also Sparta was all about war so it was fun learning about what kids had to do and how they became a warrior.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite topic that I learned about last year in social studies was The Roman Gladiator Games. I like this topic so much because I thought it was cool to see what people did back then to entertain each other. It was also interesting to see how much things have change because if someone did those type of things they would be considered inhumane and savage.
