ReplyDeleteConnor, you need to explain your answer. One word answers are not acceptable in 7th grade
DeleteI think that if I could live with any of the old colonies I would live in Roanoke because I would like to find out what happened, or see what was happening to the colony if I didn't get to stay long enough to see what did happen.

I wound live as Roanoke because no one can find me. I have more experiences in learning about Roanoke. I wound have more fun then James town.

If I were to live in one of the early colonies I would want to live in Roanoke for a week for a few different reasons. One reason would be so that I can find out the mystery of where the lost colony of Roanoke went. Also I would pick Roanoke , for example over Jamestown because Jamestown had a really rough start with starvation and fights with the Indians.

If I were to live in one of the early colonies, I would want to live in Roanoke because they had pees and no war. I would like to see what happened to the people of Roanoke and were they went.

If I could live in one of the early colonies I would live in Plymouth because being a pilgrim would be cool because you could see what life was like for them in this time period. Also you could see what it was like to not have the things we have today to help. SOme challenges would be not have any electronics like computers or a gps to help with navigation. Also it would be hard to not have the food supply we have today and not having a store. You could see what the winters were like without coats and houses. I would love to live in Plymouth because it is one of my favorite because it is so well known for the first Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteGrace I. p 2-3
I agree with Grace I. because being apart of one of the most-known/famous colonies would be so cool since you can not only see what their life was like during this time period, but you can also know what the First Thanksgiving was really like. Although some people have ancestors from this colony and/or are educated on this topic, not many people know about what truly happened on those three days of Thanksgiving; so it would be amazing to know the truth. Another thing that I agree with Grace on is the challenges that I'd face. Now these days we have stores and high technical navigation systems so everything is laid out on a silver platter for us, but to live without these things is like living in a different world. But all in all I would still like to live in the Plymouth colony.

If I were to live in any early colonies I would live in the Jamestown colony. I would live in the Jamestown colony because I think after the beginning when everyone was dying it was a good place to live at that time. I think one of my biggest challenges would be living in that time and how they live is way different then how I live. If I had to live there over a week I think I would not be able to do it. Another challenge is food the food and drink are much different there was no soda or fruit punch then there was just water and some other types of drinks, and food there was just simple food like crops and meat that's it.

If I were to live in any colonial time period I would live in Plymouth, Even though they lost a lot of people the first year they were allowed to practice any religion and I think that they were the most successful colony. I think that one of my biggest challenges would be learning to grow corn. In think this because when the pilgrims came to Plymouth they did no know how to grow corn. Another struggle would be learning a cure diseases and sicknesses.

If I had to live in one of the early colonies, I would want to live in Plymouth. I would live in Plymouth because I think it would be really cool to be able to experience the first Thanksgiving. I think that it would be awesome to experience the first Thanksgiving because no one knows what exactly happened on those three days and I would really like to experience how Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621. Also, the Natives were very kind to the Pilgrims when they first came to Plymouth unlike some of the other colonies. One of the biggest challenges that I expect that would happen is how to live and stay healthy. The lifestyle in 1621 is a lot different than how we live today and it would take me a long time to adapt to their lifestyle.

If I had to choose one of the colonies to live in it would be Jamestown. I would choose Jamestown because Jamestown had a lot of bad things going on like fighting and starvation and if I lived there I would try and make a difference. Also these reasons are some of the reason why I would not want to live in Jamestown but they make me want to fix it, even if it is only for a week.

If I had to live in one of the early colonies I would live in Roanoke. The only reason I would choose to live in Roanoke is because I want to know what happened to all the people. I would also like to see what life was like for them, if there were any struggles they had that lead to go missing. And finally I would like to see if there was anything that could have been done to stop the colony form going missing

I would live in Jamestown because it was a successful colony.
ReplyDeleteOne challenge I would face in Jamestown is the harsh cold winters there.

If I was to live in any colony for a week I would live with the Separatist in Plymouth. I chose the Separatist because living in a colony that didn't fight that much with the Indians would be nice. The Indians were kind to the Separatist when they didn't have food nor place to live. The Indians taught the Separatist how to hunt for food and make crops, build homes, make weapons to hunt, and so much more, without the Indians the Separatist most likely would not make it thought the time they were there with the harsh winters and very warm summers. Also if I were to go back to a certain week with the Separatist, I would go back to the week they had Thanksgiving. I would do this so I could really know what it was like to be a Separatist and interact with the people of the time.

If I were to live in any of the colonies, I´d probably want to live in Roanoke. I would want to live in Roanoke because living in a colony that barely ever fought would be nice. Also, I´d want to find out what happened to the lost colony that was there a long time ago.

If I had to live in any of the Colonial places, I would choose 2 places to live in. Roanoke would be my first choice. The reason for this is because i would like to discover what truly happened to the "Lost" colony and what better place to do that is their then where it was itself. Although that is true my second choice is Plymouth. I choose this location because I want to be there for the first Thanksgiving and live it. I would enjoy to see how it was and feel what Thanksgiving is really about and the best way to do that is to be in the real Thanksgiving's location. Since I need to choose one I would choose Plymouth so that I can celebrate Thanksgiving there.

If I had to choose one of the early colonies to live in for 1 week I would choose Plymouth. I would choose Plymouth over the other three because then I could experience the first thanksgiving. I would like to do this because then I could see for myself what it was like rather than believing the many different stories i'v heard about it.

If I could visit any of them I would go to Roanoke because I would like to see what happened to John White's family. I would not visit Jamestown because all the conflict they had with the natives.
ReplyDeleteJackB 10/11
I would choose to live in Plymouth because after they received help from the Natives, their lives were pretty good. Even though their religion was strict, it wasn't as strict as Puritan religion, so life would be easier. Ava P. 8/10 A
ReplyDeleteI would live in Plymouth because that colony had help from the natives and they did not have fight with them until 50 years later and I think that is would most likely survive better there. I think my biggest fear would be trying to survive and to try to stay as healthy as I could. Ava M P1-2 A
ReplyDeleteI would like to live in salem because I would think it would be cool to witness the witch trials even though there would be a chance I would be taken. I would like to be here just to see how they treated the people how they put the people in trial. I would like to meet the suspects of which craft.

ReplyDeleteI would like to live in the colony of Roanoke. I would choose this place to go because I can see what happened to the people in the village when they all disappeared I can see if they got wiped out by a hurricane, killed by Indians or died from a food shortage. That is the place that I would of like to visit. Luke W p-2-3
ReplyDeleteIf I could live in one of the colonies for a week, I would live in Salem. The reason I would choose this is because I would love to see the witch trials. My biggest problem is that I might get accused of being a witch and get killed.

ReplyDeleteIf I had to live in one of the colonies, I would probably chose New Jersey. My reason to this is because, after doing research on this colony, and looking for the pros and cons, I realized it had less cons than pros, and less cons than a lot of the other colonies. Some colonies faced diseases, non peaceful Natives, and harsh weather. New Jersey had none of those challenges. There were really no challenges besides the fact that before it was a colony, and when it was owned by the Dutch, it was attacked, so there wasn't a likely chance of that happening again. It also has great land for farming, and is close to the ocean which can be very useful. - Kayla W Period 1-2 A
