If i were to choose to live in either colonial Jamestown, Plymouth, or Puritan settlement i would choose the Puritan community. I choose this because both Jamestown and Plymouth went through tough and dangerous times. The puritan settlements seem to be more advanced and planned out, like educated towns and farms producing. There are also blacksmiths and other shops that could help the town prosper.I believe that they were the smartest when they set up their communities

If I had to pick a colony to live in it would be Plymouth. I chose Plymouth because of the rules and treatys they made which made them a success. Like when they made a peace treaty with the Indians. Also, the mayflower compact. Out of all of these colonies Plymouth was the most organized.

  4. I would want to live in the Jamestown Colony. I would live in Jamestown because Plymouth all did not do well because of disease and sicknesses. Another reason I would live in Jamestown because Jamestown succeeded unlike the other colonies.

  5. I think i would like to live in the plymouth colony, because not a lot of people live there so there would be plenty more space and food. If i had any option to live in during this time period, it would be Providence Rhode island, becaause you can have any religion.

  6. Out of the three colony choices, I would most want to live in Puritans'. I would want to live in the Puritan colony, because they have more freedom, and religious freedom. Also, they can actually talk about how they feel about different religions. In addition, they had a better settlement. In conclusion, I would want to live in the Puritan community.

  7. If I were to have to pick one of these colonies to live in I would chose Plymouth. Plymouth has good rules, and it is probably the most organized. It has plenty of food to share too. Also the Puritan's colony had a lot of rules. It would be hard to live there. I wonder if everyone had a choose by themselves back then which would be the most populated area.

  8. If i had too choose i would have chose to live in the Plymouth colony. I feel that the Plymouth colony was better prepared for their arrival and they had written the mayflower compact to live by and overall they became the more successful colony.

The colony I would want to live in is Plymouth Colony. My reasoning is because The Plymouth Colony was the most successful out of all of the early colonies. Also because it's where the pilgrims lived and the Pilgrims were more rational than the Puritans. Therefore i would want to live in the Plymouth colony.

  12. The colony that I would like to live in is Plymouth because it had the most successful start and they were the earliest colony that survived the winter.

  13. Out of those 3 colonies, I would live with the Puritans. First off, they turn you into a real man with their strictness. Secondly, they were highly educated and founded Harvard. Finally, the Puritans did grant freedom of religion so absolutely anybody could live there! In summary, I'd prefer to live in the Puritans colony

  14. A couple of you mentioned the Puritans had freedom of religion...remember, they only wanted freedom to practice their own religion. Other religions were not permitted in Mass. Bay and dissenters were banished or hanged. The QUAKERS were much more tolerant of others' religions!

  15. We understand the Puritan's had their beliefs as everyone else, but killing people for not being a Puritan is ridiculous. Quaker's had their beliefs as well, but they were more understanding. When Mary Dyer converted from a Puritan to a Quaker she tried to spread her religion with the Puritan's in Massachusetts. In our beliefs we would rather live like a Quaker, where everyone is free, and could believe what they want.

  16. I would rather be a part of Plymouth colony because the colony was a lot more prepared then the Puritan's, Jamestown and Quaker's. For example Jamestown went through the starving time because they weren't prepared, as if the colony was living Plymouth ways that might not have happened. In summary I rather live in Plymouth Colony where they were always prepared for anything.

  18. If i was to live in one of the colonies i would pick jamestown after it was settled and built in because they faced many problems when they were starting out. The jamestown colony was very succesful and was at a good location. They were making good money and was a on going succesful colony.

  19. We would like to live in the Plymouth Colony. We would like to live there because there were equal laws and more rights there. Although we would still be treated different then men and be less respected we would still be freer than in the Puritan colony or Jamestown. Also, the Plymouth colony was more successful then the other colonies. For example, the Plymouth colony survived there first winter, and was not reduced to cannibalism, unlike the Jamestown colony. In addition, the Plymouth colony associated well with the Indians, therefore not getting into wars and risking men’s lives, etc.

  21. If I could chose to live in Jamestown, Plymouth or Purtitans I would chose Plymouth. I would chose Plymouth becuase first, there was peace with the Indians. If I were to chose Jamestown, there would be a mix between peace and war. Also, there was not as much people living in Plymouth as Jamestown and the Puritans so there would be a lot more space and food. That is why I would chose to live in Plymouth.

  22. If i was in the colonial times I would like to live in the Plymouth colony because when plymoth first landed it was well stocked and built there town much easier than the other 2 colonies. It also made it through winter exceptionally well with much fewer deaths than the other 2 colinies that were reduced to digging out the graves of other dead people and eating them, as the other went from a large group to a very small group who barely surived their first winter. The Jamestown people had issues with the natives, even though the puritans were not as bad with the natives when they had Roger Williams, though after he got banished tensions rised leaving Plymouth with the best reputation with the natives. If I was a colonist back then in a place other than Plymouth I would probably have died.

  23. I think I would want to live in the Plymouth Colony. They had less trouble with the natives then Jamestown and unlike the Puritans you wouldn't be accused of being a witch. I think if I lived in the Plymouth colony I would have a unique job.

  25. We would want to live in James Town we say this because all though there was a starving time John Smith helped our colony their colony out a lot ans when he was injured we had the starving time all though we had hard time we still got a lot of help from John Rolf when he brought tobacco and ended the starving time.

  28. I would want to live in Jamestown, because that was the most successful colony. If I lived in Roanoke, I would be either dead or with Indans for the rest of my life. All of my friends and family would think that I am missing, so obviously living in Roanoke would be unsmart. If I were to live in Plymouth, I would live there happily for a few years, and then be accused of being a witch. This means tht I would spend the rest of my life with my neighbors thinking that I'm an evil spirit sent by the Devil, or I would be killed. Living in Jamestown would be my safest, and smartest choice. I can infer that a lot of the colonists who lived in Roanoke and Plymouth wished they had been sent to Jamestown as well.

  29. I would like to live in Plymouth becase they did not go through a bad time like the other two colonies did. I would also like to live there because they hada good relationship with the Native Americans. Plymouth was the most organized colony out of all of them. This is why I would want to live there.
