  1. Have you ever wondered if Martians exist? Well, they actually might! NASA recently announced that researchers have found proof of liquid water on Mars. This could spark the search for life on Mars, from the past or the present.
According to cnn.com, the water could be caused by "...melting subsurface ice; it might result from salts widely believed to be in the Martian soil, pulling water out of the thin Martian atmosphere; or possibly liquid is bubbling up from an aquifer, the researchers say." This shows why water is on Mars. There is enough salt on Mars to grab enough moisture out of the air at night to form small puddles. In March, NASA said there may have been an ocean as large as the Atlantic Ocean once on mars, but 87% of that water had been lost to space. Matthew M P8/10

    1. Thats really cool! Also my school just did a virtual reality experience and one of them was a virtual viewing from the NASA Mars rover and it was as if we were there experiencing the wide open red dusty and rocky fields.

  2. The lunar eclipse last night was a special one, it was a supermoon which is when it's perigee, the spot in its slightly oblong orbit that brings it closest to the Earth, this make s the moon seem particularly large. This was also the first supermoon in 33 years. Some people call a totally eclipsed moon a blood moon, the reason is because of the rusty red-orange color it turns when it is completely in Earth's shadow. I personally wasn't able to see this blood moon but many people were able to see it guess I'll just have to wait until 2033 which is when the next Supermoon is said to be. http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/28/us/supermoon-eclipse-blood-moon/index.html

  3. Did you know that the Pope has helped to bring our nation together during his brief visit to the U.S. He declared himself as a son of immigrants and a southern neighbor to a country and reminded us all of what generosity and kindness are. The pope has said that we work better together rather than apart from each other. During Pope Francis´s visit, he made so many lives happy and made everyone enjoy themselves no matter how they were financially and physically. Pope Francis made his appearance in the United States are count and made sure that his message of friendship and love travel across the country.

  4. Did you hear that the baseball playoffs are coming up and teams have already made sure that they are going to the playoffs like the Mets, Dodgers, Cardinals,Blue jays, Rangers, Yankees and the Royals, teams are fighting with the Astros for the last spot but will most likley make it. The Mets have never been in the playoffs since 2006 almost a decade ago

  5. There is a massive blachole and another galaxy that scientist just discovered. The black hole is 350,000,000 times bigger than the sun and it is 2 billion light years away which would take way to long to get to.But there is no need to worry because the Blackhole will not come to us

  6. The event that I will be writing about is the tragic death of Yogi Berra. He was one of the New York Yankees greats, and he died of a heart attack about a week ago. He died at age 90, and claimed that he would live a very long life. It is sad that he died because he was both a very good baseball player, and a very good man. He helped the league through economical issues, and most importantly, made the Yankees a better team. He even lead the Yankees to a World series,a and they ended up winning. And that is why, that the sad death of Yogi Berra will be remembered forever, and that people will remember all of the great things that he did

  7. An explosion in the science community began just a few days ago when evidence of liquid water was discovered on Mars. It has stricken such excitement all around the world that google has even created a Google Doodle for the momentous occasion. According to The New York Times' article, "scientists identified waterlogged molecules — salts of a type known as perchlorates — on the surface in readings from orbit. " This evidence is really something to get excited about because it shows that there may be some form of life on this planet that most think is a barren wasteland. This will go down in history because it is the beginning of true discoveries about Mars and it's possible inhabitants.

  8. One of the great yankee legends died at the age of 90. His name was Yogi Berra. He was a catcher for the New York Yankees. He was a great guy on and off the field. He did lots of charity work and helped lots of families who were struggling. He helped the yankees to many World Series and he could hit the ball no matter where you put it around the plate. Though it is sad that he died we try to remember all the great accomplishments he had in baseball and what a great man he was to baseball and the impact that he made on so many people.

  9. Sunday the 27th of September, there was an eclipse, blood moon, and looks bigger. Also it is the closest the moon gets in it's orbit. What is even more crazy is that it happens on the same night! People call this event a super moon which only happens every 33 years. I thought this rare occasion was very interesting and just wanted to share it, in case you haven't heard of it. - Morgan Ness Period 8/9-10 (a)

  10. Rhinos have been around for 40 million years. They have just recently been going extinct. Humans have caused this by taking to many resources, hunting them, and poaching them. 1,2000 rhinos died last year and this continues to happen for about 15 more years, rhinos will be completely wiped out. There is a rhino in San Diego named Nola and she is one of four northern white rhinos left on the planet. There are less than 30,000 rhinos left on the Earth. World rhino day is held on September 22 and people and scientists are doing everything they can to help the rhinos such as zookeepers teaching people about rhinos and there are activities to help the rhinos from not going extinct. 12. King Tut, an ancient Egyptian pharaoh was believed to be buried alone in a tomb full of treasures at least 3,300 years ago. But recently, scientists have created a new theory that King Tut was actually buried where Queen Nefertiti was supposed to, and that he wasnt supposed to be buried alone. Experts say that the tomb points to existence of a hidden chamber behind it, making them believe that the hidden tomb was actually supposed to be King Tuts.
But now, they believe that its actually Queen Nefertiti´s remains in the hidden tomb, and are currently working on discovering if it is using high-tech technology, without trying to break or disturb any of the artifacts.

  14. Russia recently bombed Isis in Syria. They fired over 30 missiles and hit 11 of the targets. Isis is a big threat to America and Asia and other places because they are taking people and torturing them on camera.
Russia fired more bombs at Isis and they hit 112 targets. This is Russia’s first week in Syria and Isis is already retreating from them. Russia is finding more and more of Isis’s targets and they are striking more and more targets.

  15. Isis i killing Americans for no other reason then that they are American. Also Isis has claimed one American solderers life but they have killed more citizens on camera. I think that they are pussies because they are killing citizens then using them to protect them that why we cant just bomb them until there is nothing left because we would be killing other citizens.
They are also trying to take women rights away even though they have women in their army.

    1. I agree that it is wrong for Isis to kill American citizens for just being American, but we should not react as harshly. I believe less than 10 American lives have been taken by Isis, which is a very small fraction of the amount of Afghan-Iraqi citizen killed by Americans after 9/11. Isis killed the journalist on camera mist likely to scare Americans or to make their image more striking and powerful. Ava P Period 8/10 A

  17. Isis and France are now at war because of the disaster in France that killed about 150 innocent people. To get back at the terrorists France bombed the Isis’ main training facility and the French president spoke and said France is now at war with these terrorists. And now Isis is threatening Washington D.C. so now we will be on high security.

  18. In early November, an astrophysicist found evidence that supports the theory of parallel universes actually existing. At Ranga-Ram Chary, U.S. Planck Data Center's project manager in California, have discovered a “mysterious glow” by mapping the light left over after the photons produced from the big bang cooled, also known as Cosmic Microwave Background. The spots were over 4,000 times brighter than they should have been. One of the scientists at Ranga-Ram Chary concluded that the light could represent matter from another universe “leaking” or colliding into ours. I believe that this newly found piece of information supporting the existence of a parallel universe(s) is thrilling but also kinda terrifying. The possibility of other universes existing is exciting because it raises so many questions, like "Where is that other universe located? Is in another plane of existance?". It is also terrifying because it is another universe, so the laws of physics or materials in that universe probably would be different than ours, so the merging might damage both universes. 19. I chose the unfortunate insedent that happened to France on Friday November 13, 2015. They were bombed and attacked by Isis. Hollande agreed terror group ISIS did these attacks, which he called “an act of war.” All suicide attackers wore identical explosives vests. ISIS today released a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. In an audio statement released online in Arabic and French, the group said ISIS "soldiers" targeted the "capital of prostitution and obscenity." The statement claimed the attack was the "first of the storm and a warning to those who wish to learn." I think this is ridicules and we should stop it right now by stopping Isis by teaching them a lesson. We world do that by sending bombs or fighter jets to drop missiles.

Many people had been hospitalized and even killed. After investigation we had found out with no surprise it had been ISIS. Now all the countries and there nations are lighting up building such as the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Big Ben, and other places with white, blue and red, the colors of the French flag. Shortly after this attack France sent of jets to try to bomb the ISIS, and is now, teaming up with Russia
for the bombing. The whole bombing started because the ISIS was trying to bomb Syria, so people from Syria fled to places to such as France. But this was not such a sudden act. The bombing had been planned for years, but now the ISIS will pay the price.

  22. The current event I want to talk about is the bombing in france. The bombing took place in a soccer game. The bombing affected many. Most were hospitalized and some even killed. In one situation a young girl was there and acting quickly laid on the ground pretending to be dead so she doesn't get shot. When investigators were investigating they found that it had been indeed it was the terrorist group Isis. I feel this is very sad because the peoples family that died now have to deal with how they died in such a horrible way. I also feel bad obviously for the people that died. Also feel bad for the people that had to witness this tragedy and now they are scared for life for seeing such a horrible thing. Isis just hadn't been planning this for a couple weeks no for like years just trying to get the specific plan they needed without getting caught. Think for a second why do you think isis is going after basically the whole world. Why do people have to do things like this and who even came up with the idea oh let's make a terrorist group called isis,. Well I think that was the most stupid idea in the history of ever.
